Define the batch
List the ingredients, proportions and bulk densities. State both the desired batch mass and usable working volume: total vessel volume and effective mixing volume are different values.
Select the vessel
V and double-cone mixers tumble material in a rotating vessel. Conical screw and horizontal ribbon mixers circulate material with internal agitators. Suitability depends on the ingredients and the required blend.
Plan loading and discharge
Describe how each ingredient arrives, how often recipes change and what receives the finished batch. Vacuum feeding, screw loading, platforms and packing equipment may be considered as part of the arrangement.
Confirm the result
Agree on the required uniformity, mixing cycle and sampling method for the actual ingredients. Review contact materials, cleaning access and the selected drive before confirming the configuration.
