Map the route
Identify the loading and discharge points, horizontal distance, vertical lift, changes of direction and access for maintenance. Include the equipment already installed on either end of the route.
Describe the material
Record bulk density, particle size, moisture, temperature and abrasiveness. Conveying the same volume of two different materials can require different drive and support arrangements.
Compare the methods
Vacuum feeders move suitable powders through an air-assisted line. Tube chain conveyors provide an enclosed mechanical route. Screw, belt and vibrating conveyors offer other ways to connect process stages; bucket and spiral elevators provide vertical transfer.
Coordinate the flow
Check the required rate of the receiving machine and whether the process runs continuously or in batches. Review control signals, collection, dust handling and the complete scope of supply together.
